We are very excited to share that, Anna Shapiro, our Director of Business Development is on the Real Heroes Breakfast committee. As the event gets closer, the American Red Cross is starting to collect nominees for this year’s event. The event takes place at the Hilton Garden Inn, Troy, NY on Tuesday, October 29, the American Red Cross of Northeastern New York will honor a new class of “Real Heroes” – individuals whose acts of service and bravery have helped save live in our community.

Do you know anyone within your company, neighborhood or community that may qualify to be honored at this year’s Red Cross Real Heroes Breakfast? We look for stories where individuals bravely helped save a life or performed a selfless act of service in our community.

To give you further insight, last year the American Red Cross awarded the following:

Scott Klenk – Philly Dake Award
Albany County Sheriff’s Office of Search and Rescue – Animal Rescue Hero
Tom & Trey Roohan – Blood Donor Heroes
Duane Vanderwerker and a YWCA staff member – Good Samaritan Heroes
Renee & Mike Fahey – Good Neighbor Heroes
CDTA – Good Neighbor Hero
Officer Keelan Zyzes & Officer Eduardo Ortiz, Amsterdam Police Department – Law Enforcement Heroes
Mary Judd – Military Hero
SEFCU – Military Hero
Anthony Powers – Youth Good Samaritan Hero
Jordan Laverdure – Youth Good Samaritan Hero

Perhaps you cannot think of a particular person or event at this exact moment, but if you could keep your eyes and ears open for great employees or community members over the upcoming months, we would greatly appreciate that!

Should you be interested in learning a bit more about the event, Anna would be happy to discuss further.
